FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Wausau man was arrested after refusing to leave a Fond du Lac home he was allegedly trespassing in.
Just before 6 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 200 block of East Rees Street for a report of a 50-year-old man who was refusing to leave a residence and had a felony warrant.
A female was able to get out of the residence safely and was outside upon officers’ arrival.
Officers learned the man did not live at that residence and made comments that he would kill himself or have officers shoot him instead of going back to jail.
While negotiating with the man, he allegedly repeated comments that the police will have to kill him as he will not go back to jail. The man also indicted he had armed himself with three knives.
After negotiating with the man for about one hour, he exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
The man was arrested on charges of trespassing, disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, resisting, and the felony warrant and is held at the Fond du Lac County Jail.
