HARTLAND, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Brown County man was struck and killed by a semi-trailer in Shawano County.
It happened just after 8:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 29, near the intersection of River Road in the town of Hartland.
Officials say the semi was driving east on Highway 29 while a 63-year-old man was walking along the eastbound lanes of the highway.
The semi driver reported the pedestrian lunged out in front of his semi and the pedestrian was hit.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi was not hurt.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 29 were closed for about five hours after the incident.
Shawano County deputies say the semi driver is fully cooperating with law enforcement and the incident remains under investigation.
