The Kettle Moraine Lasers won their second straight WIAA Division 1 Girls Basketball title by holding off Brookfield East 47-40 at the Resch Center Saturday night.
The Lasers never trailed in what was a defensive battle throughout and they leaned on senior Grace Grocholski to bring home another gold ball. She dominated the game with 24 points with fellow senior Braelyn Torres adding 11. Kettle Moraine finished the year with a 28-1 record, their only loss was to Division 2 state champion Notre Dame.
The Spartans were led by Shae Kelley with 18 points but the team struggled from the floor shooting just 28% for the game. Brookfield East, coached by former Green Bay Preble standout Tyler Saxton, finished 27-3.
