BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) — While summer seems like lifetimes away, the Brown County Parks Department is hiring for their seasonal and summer positions.
Seasonal positions run April – October, and summer positions run late May – August. Brown County Parks Business Manager, Nikki Hilker, says they’re looking for 8-15 employees to work as park rangers, mowing and grounds crew, and general maintenance workers.
Although they’ve received many applications, Brown County Parks is looking for people available to work when the parks are most heavily used.
“After work hours like 4 p.m. until sunset, and then weekends.” said Hilker. “It’s very important that we find that combination and the right person who has that open availability.”
Hilker says paycheck isn’t the only benefit of a parks job.
“We know that we’re a stepping stone for them for their next future job,” said Hilker. “We’re going to be teaching them stills that are hopefully going to be those attributes that when they go on to their next job will really help them excel.”
