OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — There will soon be a new way to get between Oshkosh and Neenah.
Oshkosh’s GO Transit is planning what it calls a “microtransit” service to run between the Oshkosh Downtown Transit Center and the Neenah Transit Center.
“We are joining a number of city transportation systems that have been creating microtransits to respond to changes in riders’ travel needs,” Steven Tomasik, GO Transit operations manager, said in a news release. “With this service, we offer more freedom to passengers that regularly travel between Oshkosh and the Fox Valley for work, school, medical appointments or other reasons. They can schedule service whenever they need it and can have peace of mind, knowing that they will be provided with a safe, customer-oriented ride that will get them to the Neenah Transit Center and back to Oshkosh or vice versa.”
The microtransit operation, called GO Connect, is scheduled to run from 6:15 a.m.-6:45 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Rides need to be scheduled. They can be scheduled starting a week in advance until 4:30 p.m. the day before. Rides can be scheduled by calling (920) 235-7001.
Round-trip reservations are required. Rides cost $5 each way.
GO Connect starts April 3. It replaces intercity Route 10, which ends April 1. It is a pilot program that runs through March 30, 2024. If successful, the program may be extended.
