UNDATED (WSAU-Wheeler News) At least some of Wisconsin’s early primary voters are confused about the photo I-Ds they now have to show to cast ballots. About 400 people in Milwaukee voted in the first four days of the state’s in-person absentee voting period, that runs for another week at clerk’s offices throughout Wisconsin.
Milwaukee Election Commission director Neil Albrecht says the early sampling shows that a “good amount of voter education” is needed about the renewed I-D mandate. The state Government Accountability Board provides information online at Bring It-Dot-Wisconsin-Dot-Gov, — and if people don’t have the allowable I-Ds, the board says they should act as soon as possible to get free cards from motor vehicle offices.
Milwaukee’s early voting is higher than normal, with primaries for mayor and Common Council as well as the State Supreme Court.
