MILWAUKEE (WSAU-Wheeler News) A Milwaukee man has pleaded guilty to shooting at three police officers and seriously wounding one of them. A jury had just been selected Monday when 21-year-old Najee Harmon decided to call off his trial and accept a plea deal which convicted him of lesser charges.
Prosecutors say Harmon shot at three Wauwatosa officers last June on Milwaukee’s north side while they were investigating a burglary. Harmon ran off, and a two-day manhunt took place before police found him hiding in the basement of a woman’s house.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced March 18th on two reduced charges of reckless endangerment, plus original counts of reckless injury and illegal firearm possession by a previously-convicted felon.
