MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Everyone made it out safely from a duplex fire in Menasha.
Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue was called to the 200 block of Kaukauna Street just after 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Smoke was coming from the building when crews arrived.
Crews quickly put the fire out. They say it was contained to one room in the first floor unit.
Firefighters say the unit had working smoke detectors, but did not have a sprinkler system.
Damage to the unit is estimated to be $14,000.
The first floor residents have been displaced and are getting help from the American Red Cross.
The second floor unit was not impacted by the smoke or flames.
