(WTAQ-WLUK) — Winter storms have made conditions difficult for sturgeon spearers for the second day in a row.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reported seven sturgeon were speared on Lake Winnebago Thursday. One of those was a juvenile female, three adult females and three males.
Two of the seven were speared by a father and son. Paul Muche speared a 91.3-pound, 68.8-inch fish, while his son, Eli, speared a 111.2-pound, 74.7-inch sturgeon.
Three of the seven were registered at Pipe, and two each at the Stockbridge and Southwest Winnebago registration stations.
