Aristotle Wurtz PC: Fox 11 Online
FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Fond du Lac man with mental health issues was charged with attempted homicide for allegedly hitting his mother in the head more than two dozen times, including with use of a hammer.
Aristotle Wurtz, 33, made an initial court appearance Monday on a count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, where a $1 million cash bond was set. He returns to court March 1 for a status hearing, court records show.
According to the criminal complaint, the attack happened Jan. 26 at a residence on Martin Avenue.
The victim told police “she was doing dishes and cleaning up when the defendant came at her for no reason she was struck by the defendant approximately 30 times. Victim advised that some of the strikes were with a hammer, while others were with other objects,” according to the criminal complaint.
Wurtz’s father told police Wurtz has schizophrenia and is prescribed medicine.
Wurtz told police his parents “were being mean to God and Goddess and that the defendant had to defend God and Goddess,” the complaint states. The defendant stated “I thought it would be easier to kill them with one on one but should have done both.”
The hammer was not located, a white metal decorative piece with a small metal bird that had broken off, and was covered in blood, was found.
As a condition of bond, Wurtz was ordered to take all prescribed medications.
