WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — A DePere woman has been arrested in Wausau and charged with prostitution.
Police say 41-year-old Rebecca Baker was charged with misdemeanor prostitution and felony-narcotic drug possession Thursday. Police had a call from a hotel worker who noticed Baker was staying at the hotel every Wednesday through Friday morning since December and routinely had male visitors for short periods of time.
A 69-year-old man police caught leaving the motel also received a citation for soliciting a prostitute after he admitted paying Baker $200 dollars for sex. The man only knew Baker as “Carmela” and told police she works at Showtime Gentleman’s Club.
Baker has past convictions for operating under the influence and marijuana possession in Outagamie and Brown counties.
Baker will be in Marathon County Circuit Court June 9th for a pre-trial conference, and June 27th for a preliminary hearing. She remains free on a $750 dollar signature bond.
