WRIGHTSTOWN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The family of a Wrightstown teenager is raising funds for her funeral, after the 17-year-old was found dead last week.
After law enforcement searched for Daniela Velazquez for several days, she was found on Jan. 31, with sheriff’s officials saying she likely died of hypothermia.
Her family’s fundraiser has exceeded its $5 thousand goal in advance of their Feb. 11 deadline. However, the family is still asking for support to “give Daniela the memorial she deserves, to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes.”
According to her older sister, Velazquez had a passion for art and being creative throughout whatever she did. The teenager planned to finish school before relocating to Florida and, hopefully, becoming a racing driver.
Authorities have said that they have no reason to believe that Velazquez’s death was anything other than a tragic accident.
