The Milwaukee Brewers will honor Ben Sheets by adding his name to the team’s Walk of Fame at American Family Field this season. Sheets played for the Crew from 2001-2008 and was the ace of the staff for most of his tenure. The right hander was a four time All-Star, establishing the single season club record with 264 strikeouts in 2004, a record that was eventually broken by Corbin Burnes two years ago. Sheets still ranks second on the team’s all-time strikeout list with 1206, trailing only Yovani Gallardo. He finished his career in third place with 221 starts, 5th in innings pitched and 6th in wins with 86.
The Milwaukee Braves Wall of Honor at American Family Field will add the name of Bob Hazle. Nicknamed “Hurricane”, Hazle played for the Braves in 1957 and 1958 hitting .337 and was part of the Braves’ only World Series championship team in ’57.
