ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Personal stories offer a glimpse of what it’s like working for the railroad.
“Rail Ties: Railroad Stories That Link Our Community” is a new exhibit opening February 4 at the National Railroad Museum.
The exhibit features loaned items and objects from the museum’s own collection. They’re paired with stories of the people that owned and used them.
“We’re really focusing on the stories behind the artifacts.” said Museum Curator Daniel Liedke. “It’s always great to have these items, and they all have a story. How were they used? And what were the lives of the people like?”
The exhibit is included in the museum’s daily admission.
The National Railroad Museum will continue to gather stories and artifacts to add to the exhibit, which is on display until the end of the year.
