GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Salvation Army will be able to provide food, shelter, and basic necessities for multiple families in 2019.
Captain Matt O’Neil says that because the community answered their call and helped them reach their $1.25 million dollar goal.
“It was looking pretty scarce for volunteers in November when we started the campaign.”
Captain O’Neil says that changed in December and people started ringing the bells.
“If nobody is standing at a kettle, then we barely get some change in there and that is about it.”
Last year the Salvation Army distributed over 9,000 bags of groceries and served over 33,000 meals after meeting their goal.
“We are able to provide services like our daily feeding program or putting coats on people.”
