APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Shortages are hitting blood banks across the area as the week’s severe weather and storms keep people indoors.
Now, Appleton’s Community Blood Center is asking for blood donors.
“We understand the travel challenges that are created during inclement weather. The safety of blood donors and staff is our primary concern during severe weather events. That said, there is no substitute for blood that is donated by volunteer donors. Blood donation is a life-saving and vital element in a patient’s medical treatment.”
John Hagins is CEO and president of the Community Blood Center, and he says making an appointment to donate in the next few days could help save a life.
You can schedule an appointment by following this link to the blood center’s website or calling (800) 280-4102.
