MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Fox Valley school leader is wrapping up his career.
Menasha schools superintendent has notified the school board that he plans to retire. The board accepted his notice earlier this month.
I have greatly enjoyed my time at MJSD and have been fortunate to work with such a talented and dedicated team. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that I have had while working here, and I am proud of the work that we have accomplished together,” VanderHeyden wrote. “I knew when I started here ten years ago that we could work hard and make a difference for the students and families in Menasha. We can proudly make that claim today and I know quality, caring work will continue on behalf of these children. I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life and to the new opportunities and challenges that retirement will bring. However, I will always look back on my time in Menasha with fond memories and appreciation.
VanderHeyden’s career has spanned a total of 35 years. He has been a high school math teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. His last day will be June 30.
