MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – A Manitowoc County man charged in relation to a 7-year-old boy’s death will stand trial.
Timothy Hauschultz will return to court next month for an arraignment.
The 48-year-old faces nine charges.
A judge denied a defense motion to dismiss the charges on Monday.
Ethan Hauschultz died last April after being forced to carry around a 44-pound log for two hours around a path in the backyard of their home before being buried in a snowbank for at least 20 minutes.
Neither parent was home at the time, according to the criminal complaint.
Hauschultz’s son, Damian, 15, faces six counts, including first-degree reckless homicide.
In Wisconsin, juveniles charged with certain homicide counts are handled in adult court. He returns to
Tina McKeever-Hauschultz, 36, Damian Hauschultz’s mother, is charged with failing to prevent bodily harm and intentionally contributing to the delinquency of a child.
A preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday was rescheduled to March 5, according to the Clerk of Court’s office.
