OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – A state prison employee was ordered to stand trial Thursday following charges in connection to a standoff in Neenah.
On March 21, Daniel Maher enters a plea on three charges, which includes making threats to law enforcement for the incident that took place on February 13.
Maher is a Correctional Sergeant at Oshkosh Correctional Institution that is currently on leave without pay, according to the state Department of Corrections.
Maher was intoxicated and others in the house called police when he threatened to harm his girlfriend, according to the criminal complaint.
Police called the house after his girlfriend left and met with officers.
“Maher refused to go outside and stated that he would shoot anyone that came into his house,” the complaint states.
Police later entered the home and took Maher into custody.
They found a rifle, shotgun, and ammunition following a search.
