TOWN OF BOVINA (WTAQ) – A 42-year-old Hortonville man has died after the snowmobile that he was operating, crashed with a semi-truck Thursday morning in the Town of Bovina.
Ryan Carpenter of the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened around 9:39 on Highway 54.
“Through our investigation, it showed that the snowmobile did not stop at the roadway.”
Carpenter says they believe that warnings to stop were disregarded.
“Those trails are well marked by the snowmobile clubs, so he had advanced warning that he needed to stop.”
Lt. Carpenter says that area is well traveled.
“There is quite a bit of semi traffic going from the Waupaca and New London area to Green Bay.
The semi, owned by Amerhart from Green Bay, was driven by a 44-year-old Green Bay man who was not injured.
Shiocton Fire and First Responders also assisted on scene.
