GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – 21-year-old Jared Williquette, who allegedly shot and killed Preble high school student Federico Abarca on February 22, was ordered to stand trial on Thursday.
Williquette waived his preliminary hearing Thursday on four counts, including first-degree reckless homicide, and will enter a plea on April 8.
17-year-old Gavin Rock allegedly set up the February 22 drug deal, which resulted in the 18-year-old Abarca being killed.
Rock is being charged with party to reckless homicide, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, as well as misdemeanor counts of obstruction and bail jumping.
18-year-old Colton Kehoe and 20-year-old Jarid Stevens also face counts of being party to reckless homicide, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, plus misdemeanor obstructing.
On March 20, all three of those individuals will return to court for the balance of their initial appearances.
Rock set up the drug deal with Abarca on Snapchat, according to Green Bay Police.
The group of four traveled to Abarca’s apartment with the intent to steal five vaping cartridges that contained THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
According to the complaint, Williquette told police he used a 9mm Smith & Wesson in the shooting.
