AS OF 2:02 PM FRIDAY:
The National Weather Service in Green Bay has extended the * Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams for... Rain and Snowmelt in... Brown County in northeastern Wisconsin... Portage County in central Wisconsin... Kewaunee County in northeastern Wisconsin... Calumet County in east central Wisconsin... Winnebago County in east central Wisconsin... Waushara County in central Wisconsin... Waupaca County in northeastern Wisconsin... Outagamie County in northeastern Wisconsin... Manitowoc County in east central Wisconsin... Shawano County in northeastern Wisconsin... * Until 345 PM CDT Saturday. * At 156 PM CDT, there was still widespread flooding reported across the warned area from recent rainfall and rapid snowmelt. Emergency managment reported many roads were still closed around the East River in Green Bay, 54 and 51 in Plover, as well as Black Creek and areas along parts of the Manitowoc and Kewaunee Rivers. There is an ice jam and debris in the west twin river in Manitowoc County, causing continued rises and evacuations along the river. Smaller rivers and creeks are starting to slowly recede this afternoon. However, larger rivers and streams may continue to rise for another day or two, as water from melting snow and recent rains flow from creeks and small streams into larger rivers. Ice jams are also possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ) – According to Brown County Emergency Management, an evacuation zone has been set for residents that live on GV/Monroe Rd. between STH 172 and Dickinson Rd., which includes parts of Bellevue, Ledgeview, and De Pere.
According to a posting on their Facebook page, Brown County Emergency Management says residents in that area “Need to evacuate/be evacuated due to the high and rising water. If you reside in this area and live south of Lamers Bus, please evacuate southbound on Monroe. If you live north of Lamers on Monroe, please call 391-6925 to make arrangements for evacuations as you will need help from high-clearance vehicles to get out. Remember; Purses, Pills, People, Pets, Phones. Grab your essentials and evacuate.”
Another posting on their Facebook page read:
“Residents that live off of Lime Kiln in the subdivision of Daly Dr, Palmer Ct, Palmer Dr, Lopez Ln, Trevino Dr, Johnny Ln, Faldo Ln, Tiger Ct. Due to high water 3-4ft high on Lime Kiln and Daly, please shelter in place. Shelter in place means if you are home, to stay home. If you do have a medical emergency, please call 911 ALSO, if you do not live in the 2 areas mentioned thus far but are still worried that your house may be near flooding stage, please get a “go bag” together. Purses, pills, pet stuff, phones. That way if you do need to evacuate later, you will be prepared to do so. If you are not in the evacuation zone, please use your best judgment. If you think you are unsafe in your home, leave (unless you are in the shelter-in-place section). We do not know how high the water will get or when it will go down. We are trusting everyone to use their best judgment. Avoid flooded areas.”
