SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ) – A Shawano mother pleaded not guilty on Monday in connection to her son’s death.
22-year-old Catherine Barker allegedly planned to bury her son and leave town without notifying authorities.
She’s being charged with neglect of a child causing death, not reporting the death, and attempting to move, hide or bury the body following the death of her two-month-old son last September.
She’s pleading not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
At Monday’s hearing, no trial date was set for Barker and she’ll return to court on June 4 for a pre-trial conference, according to court records.
