APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Mother Nature can’t seem to want to let go of winter, but area public work departments are gearing up to battle the elements once again.
As most crews were working on pothole repairs, it will be back to snow removal this week.
In Oshkosh Public Works Director James Rabe says plows have not been removed from trucks, the only question that remains is crew assignments.
“If we get a couple of inches, we’ll use just regular salter crews, if we get 3 to 6 inches, we’ll have our full crew out.”
The only thing the City of Appleton is slightly worried about is the amount of salt they have remaining. Chad Doran, City Communications Coordinator says they should have enough as long as we only get what is being forecasted.
“We’re still waiting for the last shipment of salt that we had ordered from last year but it doesn’t sound like it’ll be much of a difference, we have enough salt on hand to get through this little bit of snow that we’re expecting.”
Appleton will have another shipment of salt arriving later in the spring.
