ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – No one was injured in an overnight duplex fire in Ashwaubenon.
It broke out around 1 this morning at 1751 and 1753 Cormier Road.
“Upon arrival, heavy flames were showing on the back of the duplex. At the time of the fire, there were occupants on both sides. Both were able to escape.”
Dunning tells FOX 11 they’re still looking for the cause.
“The nature of the fire is unknown at this time, but there was extensive fire damage. The residents are going to be displaced and we’re working with the Red Cross to get them housing.”
He also says there were some troubles fighting the fire.
“The difficulties were, because of it being a duplex it was like fighting two structure fires. Both Duplexes were equally involved, so it took almost double the crews to fight the fire.”
An adult living on each side has been displaced. Red Cross is working with them.
