OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – The Oshkosh School District will be hosting another meeting to review their policy on school-sponsored publications and productions.
The school board discussed Policy 5722 on Wednesday after an Oshkosh North High School student accused the district of violating his First Amendment rights.
The board has announced another meeting to discuss the topic on Tuesday, May 21 at 1 p.m.
Student Brock Doemel claims an article he wrote last month for the school’s newspaper about the assistant principal was removed from its website by the staff advisor.
He also claims to have been intimidated and questioned regarding the source of his article.
The school district said earlier this week that it’s no longer pursuing the source of Doemel’s article.
