APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Visitor restrictions at Thedacare due to influenza have now been lifted.
The temporary restriction, which was set in place back in early February, has been lifted as of Friday, April 19, as health officials are seeing declining numbers of influenza cases.
The restriction had prevented children under 12 years old from visiting patients and only children who were siblings of patients and did not have cold or flu symptoms were allowed.
Even with the restriction pulled, ThedaCare still encourages all hospital visitors to wear masks and wash their hands when entering the facilities.
Visits are still being discouraged unless necessary.
Hospitals impacted by the restriction included Appleton, Neenah, Shawano, New London, Waupaca, Berlin, and Wild Rose.
