OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A neighborhood in Oshkosh is getting a refresh, just in time for spring.
Starting Thursday, volunteers are revitalizing homes in the Sacred Heart Neighborhood as part of Habitat for Humanity’s Rock the Block.
Jodi Vandermolen, executive officer of Winnegamie Home Builders Association, tells FOX 11 Rock the Block is a three-day event where volunteers complete a number of home exterior beautification projects, including mulching, raking, tree and brush trimming, caulking, siding, and porch and siding repairs.
“Anytime you can beautify your home, it increases the value of everybody’s home around you and there are people that aren’t able to do the work that’s being done.”
Many of the projects are free to the homeowner.
Some of the larger projects are discussed on a case-by-case basis and financing may be available to homeowners at a zero interest deferred loan.
