APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A former Little Chute High School teacher has been convicted of sexually assaulting a student 20 years ago.
A jury found Jason LaVigne, 46, guilty on one count of repeated sexual assault of the same child. He is set to be sentenced June 24.
The girl started to report the incident in 2009.
She said that 10 years earlier, when she was 14, LaVigne made inappropriate physical contact with her on several occasions, and asked her not to tell anyone.
Meanwhile, LaVigne faces charges in a separate case in Marinette County.
Prosecutors say he gave alcohol to a teenage friend of his daughter’s and then sexually assaulted her.
A trial, in that case, is set to begin May 22.
