OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) – An open forum was held at UW-Oshkosh Friday after racist messages and hateful images involving students on the campus surfaced.
The images included students standing in front of a swastika and one with a dry erase board that listed different minorities that were not allowed in a group of students residence.
UW-Oshkosh student Maylayna McDaniel says word has gotten around and is disturbing to many.
Student Maliek Martin says things like this have happened prior to these photos and every time it makes him uncomfortable.
UW-Oshkosh chancellor, Andrew Leavitt described the images as examples of hate and bias that will not be tolerated.
He says the university says it is investigating the matter.
UW-Oshkosh is working with Oshkosh Police on the matter to see what, if any violations were committed.
The chancellor said the world will hear and see our voices and our values in action.
