ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Thousands lined up early to fill the Resch Center for a rare presidential visit Saturday.
Red Make America Great Again hats and Donald Trump shirts filled the streets near the Resch Center for hours before the doors opened.
Trump supporters started lining up early in the morning to be one of the first in the door. The doors started opening in the early afternoon.
Some were just taking in the opportunity to see a president close to home, others like Venassa Willis of Green Bay came to hear about future plans for the country.
“I want to see his political views, yes I am a hardcore Republican.”
Willis added she wants to know more about his plans for healthcare.
Across the street near Lambeau Field, the scene, a little quieter.
At 4:00 p.m. just a half dozen protesters wanted to have their voice of opposition heard.
Nick of Neenah says he does not support Trump the President or Trump the man.
“Advocating for morals is very key and I think our current Commander in Chief lacks those morals and he is a buffoon.”
The Resch Center did fill up, leaving some to stand outside or catch the message at nearby bars and restaurants.
