OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — After five years of free parking, the Oshkosh Arena will now be charging for parking for every event.
The arena, which is the home of the Wisconsin Herd, announced Tuesday that it would be charging $10 for parking beginning Jan. 1. It explained that the first five years of parking were sponsored by Verve credit union.
General parking will enter on the eastern most entrance so that vehicles can wait on 11th Street before approaching the guard house, which will now be used for the parking pay attendant. The other two entrances will be blocked.
Customers will be able to exit out of the eastern entrance as well. South Main and 12th streets will both be exit only options.
Oshkosh Arena says the lot will continue to be a self-parking situation, meaning staff will not direct vehicles into specified stalls. As the lots fills, staff will check if stalls are available like they do now.
