GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Green Bay Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies nationwide, including Brown County and across Wisconsin, for the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over holiday enforcement campaign that runs through New Year’s Day.
Tom Buchmann, Operations Lieutenant with the Green Bay Police Department, wants everyone to be safe during their holiday celebrations.
“There tends to be a lot of drinking at these celebrations,” said Buchmann. “We are just trying to bring awareness and remind people to be proactive with their plans when they go out to celebrate.”
During the holiday campaign effort last year from December 14, 2021 to January 1, 2022, the Green Bay Police Department made 20 OWI arrests.
Those who need help finding a safe ride home, either for themselves or someone else, can download the free Drive Sober mobile app from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation website.
