SHAWANO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A Shawano County farm is turning to the community for help after a devastating fire wiped out all of their food supply needed for the surviving animals.
Crews were out at the farm on Deering Rd, just north of Cecil, Wednesday around 5 p.m.
Most of the 500 animals on the dairy farm survived, but a few calves and pigs died in the blaze.
The farm’s hay supply and the calf barn are a total loss, so with no way of feeding their calves, pigs, and horses, Rebekah Anger, who’s family owns the farm, is reaching out to the community for assistance.
Please contact Faye Van Beekum at (920) 471-3063 if you have any hay or feed you would like to donate.
If necessarry, pick-up can be arranged, but it would be appreciated if the feed could be delivered to the farm at 13605 Deering Rd.
