BRUSSELS, WI (WTAQ) – An investigation of an alleged threat towards students and possible hit list at Southern Door School District is being conducted.
The district says at this time, they have no evidence of a hit list or threats that have been put into motion, but they have identified the individual accused of making the threats.
“While we have discovered no direct evidence of any threats being put into motion, we have identified the individual making the threats, and continue to work with safety experts in a proactive manner so our schools can focus their efforts on academic success. We always ask that our students, parents, and community notify us of safety concerns they have,” said Southern Door Principal Steve Bousley in an email.
The district took precautions including on-site Door County Sheriff Officers, additional trained personnel in and around the school Friday and in the future if needed.
The situation was discussed with students Friday, as well.
