GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Some area fire stations received a free lunch on behalf of the Salvation Army.
It’s in honor of National Salvation Army Week.
The greater Green Bay chapter took their Emergency Disaster Vehicle around to various fire stations to serve lunch.
Salvation Army Captain, Matt O’Neil tells FOX the shooting in Appleton reminds them to give back to those who serve.
“Servant leadership, by the firefighters, going out and risking their lives each and every day. We’re super sorry to hear the news but it’s a risk they take to protect our lives, and we appreciate them.”
National Salvation Army Week was declared by President Dwight D-Eisenhower in 1954.
