MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – The Wisconsin Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments on three notable cases from the area.
They are:
Carrie Counihan was convicted for stealing more than $20,000 from the Door County Humane Society. She appealed after the judge revealed he reviewed other similar cases before sentencing, but without sharing those details with the attorneys before the sentencing. The court will review the due process claims Counihan raises.
Kohler Company is appealing a decision denying it permits to acquire land for another golf course in Sheboygan County. The court will review the decision-making process used by government agencies.
Dennis Brantner, who was convicted in the murder of Berit Beck, appeals his convictions on unrelated drug offenses, raising issues of double jeopardy and trial location.
No dates have been set for oral arguments.
