ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Pack is back in town — and so are the railbirds.
The Green Bay Packers on Tuesday held the first of three public practices scheduled during this year’s organized team activities.
It was also fans’ first chance to see the Packers practice under new head coach Matt LaFleur, and see the team’s recently drafted rookies in action.
“We look very fresh right now, a new beginning and It’s going to be a good season,” said Packers Fan John Webb.
It’s no secret that the Packers struggled during the 2018 season, missing the playoffs for the second year in a row.
“Yeah I was terribly disappointed, our defense was terrible and horrible,” said Packers fan Coltin Philibeck.
The interest was noticeable inside the Packers Pro Shop, where Derek Dimmer tells FOX 11….
“There’s definitely buzz and energy inside and out of the building. I think everyone is looking to see how training camp goes, family night and everything that’s going on this summer will be new and fresh. Things will definitely be different than what we are used to so there’s some excitement.”
The practice took place at Clarke Hinkle Field, with fans lining up outside the fence along Oneida Street.
More public practices are set for May 29 and June 4, weather permitting.
