MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A 24-year-old Green Bay man and 31-year-old New Franken woman were arrested following a high-speed chase, according to the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident happened on Tuesday at 4:40 a.m. on I-43 in Centerville when a deputy pulled over a driver going up to 115 mph.
The 24-year-old then left I-43, went on Highway 151/Calumet Avenue, and traveled towards Manitowoc, according to deputies.
The deputy was forced to stop pursuit once the car went through a red light at County Road R and Rapids Road.
The man, woman, and car were later found by deputies on Calumet Avenue near S. 37th Street in Manitowoc.
They say the car also crashed into a utility pole and the man and woman left the scene.
Those two were later found hiding in a garage in the 1700 block of S. 41st Street.
The Green Bay man was arrested for knowingly fleeing an officer, criminal trespass to dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating after revoked, while also being arrested for failing to wear a seat-belt, reckless driving, failure to stop at a red light and passing vehicles on the right.
The New Franken woman, who received a head injury because of the crash, was arrested for obstructing an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping and criminal trespass to dwelling.
