ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) – Ashwaubenon Public Safety says an altercation escalated into a shooting Thursday evening.
Now, authorities are looking for three suspects following the non-fatal shooting
According to authorities, the incident happened at the Microtel Inn around 7 p.m. Thursday.
Ashwaubenon Public Safety Chief Eric Dunning says an altercation arose between three men that entered the hotel and another man who had a room.
“The limited information that we’ve received so far is that the three individuals were not welcomed into the room,” says Chief Dunning.
A shot was fired and the individual in the room suffered a gunshot wound to the torso.
“He was transported to the local hospital, where he’s still currently being treated,” explains Chief Dunning.
Whereas for the three suspects, they quickly fled the scene.
“Three individuals exited the building, got into a vehicle, and took off from the hotel in an unknown direction,” he explains.
The hotel was not shut down during the incident and has been operating normally.
Officers are hoping the victim will help shed some light on the identity of the suspects, because as of right now, there’s not a lot of information.
“We don’t have a good description on them, we’re trying to work with the victim on this,” says Chief Dunning.
Additionally, authorities are looking through any available security footage to better get a description of the suspects and their vehicle.
Chief Dunning adds that they believe the victim was targeted in the shooting and that this is an isolated incident.
