GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A Green Bay man facing a felony count of making a terrorist threat has been acquitted.
A jury has returned a split verdict regarding 56-year-old Dmitry Morozov who was accused of making “shooting gestures” towards other patrons at the Brown County Library.
However, he was convicted of misdemeanor counts of battery to an officer, disorderly conduct, and obstruction.
On Thursday, the two-day trial ended and court records show that sentencing is scheduled for August 26.
On January 26, police responded to the library after complaints about his threats, which included making finger gun gestures and gun noises.
Additionally, one of the threats was directed towards the children’s section of the library.
Morozov resisted officers, who used pepper spray and twice a Taser in order to subdue him.
According to the complaint, he also punched an officer in the face.
Last year, Morozov was convicted of negligent handling of burning materials and disabling a fire alarm.
He set fire to an Ashwaubenon apartment, and, while naked, tried to escape out of a window.
At that time he was sentenced to the 52 days in jail.
