GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – With summer underway, and warmer temperatures here to stay, the Greater Green Bay Salvation Army is opening their doors to anyone that needs to cool down.
The organization announced on Thursday that their building on Union Court will operate as a cooling center throughout the summer on days when the temperature reaches 85 degrees and above.
“Extreme heat brings dangers to many in our community and offering a cool, safe place is one of the many ways we can serve those in need,” says Major Matt O’Neil, Area Coordinator of the Greater Green Bay Salvation Army.
The center’s summer hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
