APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Former Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers tight end Lance Kendricks was sentenced for marijuana possession on Thursday.
Kendricks appeared in Outagamie County Court after previously pleading no contest to misdemeanor marijuana possession.
He was sentenced to six months on probation and was ordered to perform eight hours of community service.
Four hours will be performed at four different Milwaukee high schools: Vincent, Hamilton, Washington, and King, which Kendricks attended.
Court records list his address as Calabasas, California, and the other four hours will be performed in southern California.
Kendricks, 30, was originally given a ticket following a September 2017 traffic stop in Outagamie County, however, the ticket was dropped and a misdemeanor count was filed.
A state trooper pulled Kendricks over on I-41 in Grand Chute, according to the criminal complaint, and his vehicle was clocked at 81 mph in a 70 mph zone.
The trooper noticed the smell of marijuana during the stop and Kendricks admitted that he had marijuana in the glove compartment.
A search of the glove compartment revealed marijuana, rolling paper, and a grinder, which is used to prepare the leaves for smoking.
Kendricks played for the Packers last year, but is not currently listed on the team’s active roster.
