GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Thursday is the kick-off to a local celebration that should get your taste buds excited.
“It’s a great way to try things you’ve never tried before,” explains Brenda Krainik, with the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Burea.
She’s talking about the seventh annual Green Bay Restaurant Week, which continues to grow in size over the years
“Eight days long, fifty-nine restaurants, that’s a lot of restaurants,” she says. “And locally owned restaurants, which makes it even better.”
From Thursday, July 11, to Thursday, July 18, hungry patrons will have the opportunity to try a number of specialty chef inspired dishes from all over the city.
No matter where you go, you won’t leave hungry.
“We have options that include an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert,” says Krainik. “It’s very, I guess, not normal to have that.”
Don’t worry about breaking the bank either.
The event has three different price points, giving you an option to pick and choose.
“Our lunches are eleven dollars and that means you are getting three courses for eleven dollars,” she explains. “Then our dinners are twenty-two [dollars] and thirty-three [dollars].”
The goal of the event is to showcase a variety of local eateries and highlight the accomplished chefs that work behind the scenes to bring a unique flavor to the Green Bay area.
And for those with a more conservative taste, this is a golden opportunity for you to step out of your culinary comfort zone.
“They might put the name of something on the menu that you’re just not familiar with,” says Krainik. “This week you should order that.”
