HOBART, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Hobart residents can look forward to the opening of a new restaurant now that the village board has given investors preliminary approval.
The tentative name for the restaurant is “D2 Centennial Circle,” it’ll be located on vacant land at the intersection of North Overland Road, and Larsen Orchard Parkway.
“Not too long ago we expressed our great desire to have a restaurant in the area, so when we heard the news we were all very excited,” said local business owner Dr. Tracy Kusik.
Hobart Village Administrator Aaron Kramer tells FOX 11 they’ve been working on the project with Bayland Building since January.
“Bayland building brought in the two partners and as you mentioned the two gentlemen we are working with do have a track record and know how they make a dollar and involved in the community. So that’s really what we were looking for.”
The two partners are Michael Lenarduzzi and Howard Johnston, they also own D2 Sports Pub in Green Bay.
But Kramer said their vision for the Hobart location is different, they see it as a place of entertainment for the whole family.
“It’s going to be a $2.4 million facility, banquet hall, fireplace and will draw your attention even before you go in and eat the food. It will fit really well in that general area.”
Kramer said this new development will bring jobs to the area and may open the door for more businesses to follow.
“When we get people who want to work together for the common good we get what we want, the residents get what they want and that’s the perfect combination to make dreams happen.”
Bayland said it expects to start construction as early as this fall and hope to open by Spring of 2020.
The restaurant’s final design and layout will to Hobart’s “Site and Review Committee” next week.
