MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents for UW-Oshkosh and the campuses in Menasha and Fond du Lac approved a new logo and campus name changes on Friday.
The moves follow the merger of the two-year UW Colleges with nearby four-year campuses.
UW-Oshkosh now operates what was previously UW-Fox Valley and UW-Fond du Lac.
Under the “visual identity” plan approved, the preferred way to refer to the schools is now by using the school name and campus location, according to Peggy Breister, the Interim Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for UWO.

“I am pleased the Board of Regents has approved our plan,” says UW Oshkosh Chancellor Andy Leavitt. “We are stronger together and we can serve the needs of more students, whether that is through access to education at Fond du Lac and Fox Cities or through the four-year Oshkosh campus. Our University offers a wealth of opportunities.”
Chancellor Andrew Leavitt offered this explanation of the images in a blog post earlier this year:
“The lettermark represents a new direction for UW Oshkosh. It identifies the University in all forms of communication and marketing while preserving the integrity of its reputation in higher education. The sans serif font is bold and signifies strength. It is clean, modern and engaging without distracting decorative elements. The overlap of the U, W, and O provides a strong visual nod to our future as three campuses joined as one university. The university and campus names also appear in a clean, sans serif font that bears a strong resemblance to the existing UW Oshkosh wordmark design. This similarity will allow a smooth transition from the current wordmark to the modern lettermark on the Oshkosh campus,” Leavitt wrote.
The school says there is no set timeline for replacing any items with the logos and materials will be updated as needed.
