ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Where did the chicken cross the road?
At the scene of the chicken footprints in the crosswalk, of course.
Ashwaubenon village staff painted yellow chicken feet in the crosswalk across Holmgren Way Monday at Marvelle Lane, just north of Capital Credit Union Park — home of the Green Bay Booyah baseball team.
With the recent construction, crews had to repaint along the curbs, and Village President Mary Kardoskee had the idea to use the foot from the “Y” in the Booyah logo as a way to highlight the crosswalk, said Doug Martin, director of Public Works.
With no dedicated parking lot for the stadium, many fans park west of Holmgren Way and need to cross that street to get to the stadium.
Staff had to do the painting in the area already due to the road construction, and Martin estimates the village used about $5 worth of paint already in stock for the work.
