APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An Appleton city committee has approved funding for a new development on the west side of College Avenue.
The plan calls for a four-story, mixed-use space in the 800 of West College Avenue.
The $5.5 million redevelopment would include businesses, apartments, and underground parking.
The buildings there now have stood vacant for many years.
But a developer already says they have a business lined up for the new project.
This would be a fourth redevelopment project that the city has considered downtown.
Kip Golden CR Structures Group Executive Vice President and Co-Owner, tells FOX 11…
“We’re obviously looking for other tenants in that space as well, but just, again, revitalizing the west side.”
There’s a lot of excitement going on on the east side. We’re excited to bring something to the west side, and hopefully, something across the street happens as well in the near future here,” said Golden.
Other projects in Appleton include the new Gabriel Lofts project, a project at the intersection of Durkee and Washington Streets, and one by Lawrence University.
