ANN ARBOR, MI (WSAU) – Alex Hornibrook’s second start as the Badger’s quarterback was a step backwards against a touch Michigan defense. The redshirt freshman completed only 9 of 25 passes and threw three interceptions in a 14-7 loss. Wisconsin was held to only 77 rushing yards.
The Badgers still got the ball back on the 8-yard-line with 2:15 left in the game. Badgers receivers dropped two passes before Hornibrook threw a fourth down interception to end the game.
Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight gave his team the lead with a 46-yard touchdown pass to Amara Darboh midway through the fourth quarter.
It was the Wolverines first win over a top-10 opponent since they beat the then-ninth-ranked Badgers in 2008.
Michigan improves to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten. The Badgers fall to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference. Wisconsin had a bye next week, and then hosts second-ranked Ohio State in a Saturday night game in Madison.
