GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Green Bay Packers put an end to their five-game losing streak Sunday night. They beat the Dallas Cowboys 31 to 28 at Lambeau Field.
Ticket King Manager Travis Loftus tells FOX 11 the losing streak affected ticket prices.
“They went down significantly for the last four games we have had here at Lambeau,” says Loftus.
He says ticket prices have also been impacted for future games.
“Especially the last game of the year against the Detroit Lions — that one has come down a good 40 to 50 bucks from a month ago even. We’ve got tickets for the last game of the year right now for like $60, and the face value is $123,” says Loftus.
Loftus says, despite Sunday’s win, prices remain low.
Packers fans skating in the outdoor rink at Titletown talked about what gameday attendance looks like when the Packers are losing.
“We’re less excited to go in person, but we always watch on TV still. Yesterday was an exciting day and made me want to get tickets for Thursday,” says Greg Behrend.
Other fans feel differently.
“I’ve been going to games through bad seasons, through good seasons, through it all,” says Sofie Druckrey.
Druckrey says her attendance will not change.
“Ticket prices will go up, but true fans will still be going to games.”
Greg Behrend says he prefers to go when the team is doing well.
“I think it’s always more fun to go watch them, have some good fun, hard football out there and win some games. Some of these losses have been pretty painful, so it would be exciting to hopefully turn things around here.”
Loftus says things could’ve looked a lot different moving forward if the Packers had lost to the Cowboys.
“I believe if they would’ve lost that game, the wheels would have fallen off on the fans, unfortunately. This kind of gives them a little bit of hope that they are still in it for a wildcard chase yet for a playoff game possibly.”
